About Akalo

Akalo is made at Ruispiri Estate in the village of Ruispiri, in Kakheti. Its idea is 'wine born in clay': grapes grown in clay-rich soil, then fermented slowly and aged in qvevri, the buried clay jars at the heart of Georgia's ancient winemaking tradition. The Amber, a dry blend of Kisi and Mtsvane, shows dried peach, floral and earthy notes.
